AMY E. ROSE – ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL

Amy Rose serves as Assistant General Counsel at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.  She is responsible for matters involving general litigation, Court of Claims cases, university special projects and student affairs.

Ms. Rose also serves as a hearing officer for the Office of Student Judicial Affairs.  Prior to this appointment, she had extensive administrative, student affairs, and general litigation experience while working as the Assistant Director of Admissions at the SIU School of Law, an attorney in a private practice, and an assistant public defender.

Amy is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Murray State University with a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health.  She obtained her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law.  Currently, Ms. Rose serves on various university committees and volunteers her time to both the Perry County Youth Court and Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation.  Amy is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association.
